Monastery Audio is run by [LEGAL NAME], [ADDRESS] ("we"). We collect as little as we can. We don't sell or share your data for advertising, and the website has no advertising or tracking cookies.

What we collect, and why

When you buyLemon Squeezy (our reseller and merchant of record) collects your name, email, billing country and payment details to take payment, charge the right tax and send your receipt and licence key. We receive your name, email, country and order details; we never see your card details. Lemon Squeezy is an independent controller of the data it collects; see its privacy policy. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
When you activateYour licence key, a machine code (a one-way hash of your computer's hardware ID, which can't be turned back into the ID), your computer's name and the product. Stored with your licence in Lemon Squeezy so you can see and manage your activations, and written into your licence file. Legal basis: contract.
Mailing listYour email address, only if you sign up. Used to send Monastery news and offers. Unsubscribe from any email. Legal basis: consent.
Contact form and emailYour name, email and message, used to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interest in helping you.
Website hostingNetlify, our host, processes your IP address and browser details to serve the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use analytics cookies.
The plug-insThe plug-ins send nothing during normal use: no analytics, no crash reports, no usage tracking. They only contact us when you click Activate or Deactivate.

Who processes data for us

  • Lemon Squeezy (payments, tax, licence keys, receipts)
  • Netlify (website hosting, activation server, form submissions)
  • [EMAIL PROVIDER] (support email; mailing list if added)

Some of these are in the United States. Where data leaves the UK or EU, they rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

How long we keep it

Order and licence records: as long as your licence exists, plus whatever period tax law requires (often 6 to 10 years). Support emails: up to 3 years. Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to its use, or move it elsewhere. Email support@monastery-audio.example. If you're unhappy with our answer you can complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO; in the EU, your national authority). Deleting your licence records means we can no longer re-issue your licence.

Children

The store is not aimed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
